[Geek Beauty] Fortune Cookie Soaps Fall Soap Box "As You Wish"

I absolutely LOVE Fortune Cookie Soaps as a brand. They handmake all their items and many of them have great fandom related themes to them! The Fall Soap Box wasnt any different. The them for fall is "As You Wish" and all of the items have a Princess Bride theme to them!

Each soap box always has the iconic fortune cookie soap in it! This one has the Drop Your Sword Fortune Cookie Soap, and has the smell of medieval honey apple mead, and a cute sword through it! The dread pirate Robert would be proud!

Probably my favorite item out of the box! The Mostly Dead Whipped Cream. I LOVE their whipped creams, they are super moisturizing and make your skin feel so good. This one also smells amazing! the description says it is "Golden honey drizzled over toasted almonds and pumpkin puree." And it does have a hint of pumpkin smell to it, which is probably why I love it so!

Another item included in the Fall Soap Box was the Buttercup shampoo. I LOVE Fortune Cookie Soaps shampoos. They make your hair feel so good. The smell description on this one is "Candied run wrapped with ripe fig, bergamot, vetiver, warm sandalwood and sweet vanilla musk" This stuff smells great, and I am so happy they included a shampoo this time!

Prepare to Die OCD Hand Sanitizer. These hand santizers are the best, like seriously they smell amazing and work great, this one also has glitter in it! (which glitter makes everything better!) The scent is listed as "A warm blend of fresh baked cookie dough spiced with clove and saffron." It does smell yummy but use it to sanitize your hands not eat!

The Steam Me Up Scotty "Pit of Despair", is the one item I am really excited about trying in this set. I have not gotten a chance to try out these fizzy things for the shower. The description on their webpage makes them sound great though. "Directions: For maximum results take a hot, steamy shower. Simply unwrap & toss the shower fizzy on the floor to the back of your shower, out of the stream of water. You want it to slowly fizz during your shower, rather than quickly run down your drain. It's like your personal little aromatherapy room, the steamier the better!"
This one has the scent of patchouli and fresh cut lemongrass and tropical plumeria. So that just sounds amazing!

The last group of items were all in smaller containers so I crammed them all into one photo you have (from left to right) Mawiage scented cotton ball, True Love Facial Cleansing Oil, Knight Cream Face Moisturizer, and the Inconceivable perfume oil.

The Mawiage cotton ball has to have my favorite name out of all the items, it is a scented cotton ball that smells like pound cake, cardamom, pistachio and rosewater.

The True Love Facial Clensing Oil is GREAT! This stuff makes your skin feel so good,. You put some in your hands, rub it together until it gets a milky color and then massage it onto your face, then rinse off.

Knight Cream Face Moisturizer is a great smooth moisturizer that soaks into you skin and helps keep your face from drying out.

And lastly the Inconceivable Perfume oil is a great smelling perfume of "fall woods, black amber and poached pears". It smells wonderful.

There are a lot more items in this set that were not included in the soap box, and you can check them out on the Fortune Cookie Soaps webpage. A bunch say out of stock right now, but they restock regularly as they make products since all are handmade and shipped out. You can also find the link to their soap boxes as well (which come out four times a year, and cost $19.99.)

[Geeky Makeup] Espoinage Cosmetics June 2016 BOOM Box! Naturally Awesome!

June's BOOM Box is my second box that I have gotten from Espionage Cosmetics, and I LOVE it! I wear their nail wraps all the time, so getting more nail wraps to add to my collection to choose from when I put new ones on is always awesome! This months theme was "Naturally Awesome" and came with a lot of really amazing items

First off the nail wraps, this box had two designs in it, Pretty Poison and Turquoise. Pretty Poison is a leaf and vine deisgn with a venus fly trap on it. It is a clear design so you can wear nail polish under it, I decided not too when I wore these.

I really loved how this design looks and  the earthy tones went with basically everything I would wear while I had these on!

The next item in this months box were three color sheets and a set of 12 color pencils. The sheets have the Espionage crest on them, a Fern Gully page and one with the word Powers on it, and who doesn't love to color!

The next item is one of my favorites from the box, a fun "Feed Me" candle from Boozy Arts. I LOVE candles and use them all the time, so a new candle is always welcome in my house. This one has a pine/tree/earthy smell to it and it pleasant.

It also looks awesome lit!

I love Espionage's everything shadow.  So getting three colors that are meant for highlighting but could also be used as eye shadows and lip colors, so having so many options to use them for is great! I love versatile makeup! These colors have really fun names too! The bronzer color is called "Terrafirma" (bottom), A white highlighter with a hint of pink in it is called "Thermosphere" (left side), and the last highlighter is called "Cryosphere" (right side).

The final item in the box is absolutely my favorite out of all the items in it! Treestar Hair Pins!!!! The Land Before Time is one of my all time favorite movies. I LOVE dinosaurs and still have my Little Foot stuffed doll that my parents bought me when the movie came out, so I may have made some happy screams when I saw these after opening the BOOM Box! up.

The stars are made fro wonderful quality and the hair pins fit tightly into the hair.  Such an amazing item to have in this box!!!

So far I have had nothing but good things to say about Espionage Cosmetics, and recommend them to all my friends who love geeky makeup! Want to check out the BOOM Box! or their monthly NEXUS? Check them out here!

[Loot Crate] June Level Up! Accessories "Dystopia" Theme

Loot Crate Level Up! has so far been my favorite of the Loot Crates to consistently have stuff I want in it each month. This months theme of "Dystopia" was intriguing as to what they would be sending, and I am really happy about this months items!

The two items this month were a Attack On Titan necklace and a Firefly Kaylee hanging travel case.

We'll start off with my favorite item for this month! The Firefly Kaylee Hanging Travel Bag! I love that Level Up does send unique items that you wouldn't think of them sending, and this travel case is super cute and very handy for trips, or to store your makeup in. it opens into three compartments and has multiple pockets for storage. I absolutely love this and squeed! when I opened the mailer!

The next item they sent is an Attack On Titan Necklace with the Survey Corps. logo on it. I like Attack on Titan and the necklaces Level Up sends are great quality but I really wish they wouldn't send so many necklaces, they have sent a lot in the last few months, so a change up of a different jewelry piece would be nice. But that's just my opinion with the amount of new necklaces I now have from them!

I absolutely love every month I get this package in the mail and look forward to it! Want to check it out? then head here for the info!

[Body Products] Fortune Cookie Soaps "We're All Mad Here 2.0" Whipped Cream

In spring of 2015 Fortune Cookie Soaps released their Wonderland soap box. Now they are back doing a 2.0 line, and have sent out some samples of their whipped creams. I was lucky enough to get the "We're All Mad Here 2.0" in a recent order and I love, love, love this stuff. I have almost used this entire sample because it smells so good!

I was so intrigued by the whipped creams when I started looking at Fortune Cookie Soaps products last year. I wasn't sure at first if it was like Lush's  body conditioners or more like a lotion. It is a lotion or body butter style thick cream that is super moisturizing! (they also have some with Aloe in them!) The webpage describes this fragrance as "Playful mint waters and natural leafy green notes perform a masterful balancing act with musky rich cedarwood." for the original run, and the 2.0 Also has hints of watermelon in it!. This stuff smells amazing, funny enough with the scent description this would not have been one I would pick up based on the fragrance description, but I do love this and hope to get some once it is released

The cream is a two colored swirl in the container, the bottom being purple and the top being pink. And this stuff is super moisturizing, it is thick and soaks into the skin without a residue or oily feeling, which is great!

It reminds me a lot of a mixture between lotion and body butter, it isn't runny but it isn't that super thickness you get either.  It, to me, is the perfect blend. You can check out Fortune Cookie Soaps here, and the Wonderland 2.0 line will be out eventually (no actual date from them) so keep an eye out for it and the other fragrances they will have!

[Geeky Makeup] Espionage Cosmetics BOOM Box April 2016! Fabled

A few months ago Espionage Cosmetics launched their BOOM Box, a makeup and more box that features their nail wraps, lips and all over colors as well as other geeky/nerdy companies items as well! I missed out on the first two boxes due to funds, but was able to subscribe for their third box which was themed "Fabled". I was so excited for this box, as you can tell from many of my posts, I LOVE espionage cosmetics and their nail wraps and other products (I am currently buy their all over shadow and stocking up on colors to do a fun makeup!) So I was so excited to see what I would get in this months box, since I was starting to run low on nail wraps and with the school year ending soon and only having my film makeup jobs to make up for the income, the extra spending wont be happening much!

This months box had a lot of great goodies in it, and I was so excited to see what was going to be in there, the previous two boxes were fantastic, so this one had to be too!!
So lets get started with all the awesome in them!

I'll star off with the fun Espionage swag that they send in their boxes. A fab nail file (since you need those to do the nail wraps!) a emblem sticker with everything you need in like (makeup, unicorns, and swords!) and a business card for the Boom Box! Now onward to the super exciting stuff!

Digital Soaps teamed up with the BOOM Box and offered a lovely glittery unocorn head soap! Looking at the card in the box it looks like there were three colors, Green (which I got), Purple and Blue. It is sparkly which is awesome and a unicorn! It will go amazing in my bathroom and I am very excited by Nerdy bath items!

Another amazing bath item in this months box, Rosina Leckermaul's House of Sweets Strawberry & Basil Sugar Scrub. This stuff smells like heaven, if heaven smelled like strawberries and basil. It has a great sugar scrub consistency and smells and feels wonderful to use! And it is bright pink! So bright and wonderful looking and smelling! It also leaves your skin smelling and feeling amazing after a shower!

Next up is an item from the Espionage Geek Boutique,  a set of three lovely mermaid inspired note cards, each has a saying in the lower corner and has a shiny scale motif on them. They are post card styles note cards and have envelopes to put them in once you have written your message on the back!

These fun temporary fairy tattoos are a first for Espionage! The box came with two packs of the same fairy designs, the dancing gold fairies then the written words as well. I am really excited to wear these since I loved the temporary tattoos as a kid and these feel like an older version of those! Also fairies!

I was SOOOOOOOO excited when I found out that the box would contain a new color for their everything shadow and a Lip serum! I was even more excited when I opened the box and the lip serum was purple (my favorite color!) The everything shadow is called Rumpelstiltskin and is a gold/yellow color. The Lip serum is called Banshee and is a sheer purple. You can mix the two together too (what the small plastic container is for) and make a peachy color as well! I have had so much fun using these, their Lip Serums are not sticky, they are super moisturizing and they feel amazing on your lips (and smell amazing too!)

The last item in the BOOM Box is what I was most excited about! I LOVE Espionage's nail wraps, I wear them all the time and am always excited when I am able to get new designs to wear and coordinate with my outfits! This months box had two new designs and you got one or the other (a Fairy design) and then the Valknjoggr, a dragon design, which is the one I received. Everyone also got Mystical Mane, a unicorn inspired set with fabulous glittery main nails and unicorn eyes as well! I am so excited to wear these since they both look amazing and I love the fantasy styles so much!

You can check out the BOOM Box here online! hey are now taking orders for June, so if you want to get in on the next one that has the theme Naturally Awesome, then get on it quick, they do sell out each month!

[Geek Makeup Review!] More Ways to Have an Awesome Nerd Manicure!

So I sat looking at the extra on my Espionage Cosmetics Nail Wraps the other day and decided to do something different to use up the extra bits I had left. I decided to try out a somewhat french manicure with the extra bits that I had on the ends of the nail wraps I had originally cut off, and I love the results!

Over the last few months (since the end of February) I have work four different Espionage Nail Wraps (Literary,Orange and Pink Masks, Pitch Perfect and Nebulae.) I wanted some cute music nails again, so I grabbed the remainder of the Pitch Perfect and my Lavender Probelle Nail Polish I got in my Ipsy Bag this month and went to town!

Doing the tips did take a lot longer than just putting on the wraps, the challenge was making sure the nail polish was completely dry and wouldn't dent when applying them. I got them on and love the overall look of them, but I also know better for next time to paint my nails and let them dry for at least 30 min. or so before I try to put the tips on. I finished them off with Essie gel nail top coat so there wasn't a gap between the nail wrap and the nail to pull it off (I always use this top coat on my nail wraps anyways since it helps keep them on, in my opinion.)

I definitely will try this out with my other leftovers from my nail wraps (I knew I saved them for a reason!) I would also suggest this to others who want to try out a different look on their nails, who also love the nail wraps and nail polish!

You can check out Espionage Cosmetics here

[Geek Girl Clothing] Hot Topic's DC Bombshells Clothing Line

So I was in Hot Topic the other day, and stumbled across this fantastic line of clothing! I cried as my wallet gave me a big "nope" to it at the moment, but look at these amazing outfits for the lady who loves DC in your life! The outfits are based on the DC Bombshells, comic covers, comics, posters and statues that they have produced with each of the DC ladies wearing an iconic bombshell inspired outfit! While there are many more than four in the comic line of Bombshells, Hot Topic has made outfits for four of the ladies so far; Bat Woman, Poison Ivy, Wonder Woman, and Harley Quinn.

I grabbed a few photos of the displays in the store, and they are wonderfully made. The Wonder Woman is a set (sold seperately) a top and shorts. The top is a Rayon, Polyester and spandex blend and was nicely made ($39.50). The shorts were a Cotton, Polyester and Spandex blend, and has some stretch to them, which is always nice. ($34.50)

The Poison Ivy Dress ($69.50) If a Polyester and Spandex Mix, and has to be one of my favorites from the line (next to the BatWoman dress.) The dress is really cute and has a raised velour-esque print on it that has vines and little bat symbols on it.

Such wonderful detail on it. I also really liked how the back was not super low cut. The entire line comes in sizes Small to 3XL, and the shorts go from 0-17 in juniors sizes, which is great since it means way more Geeky ladies can enjoy the clothing (which Hot Top is already great at since Torrid also has plus sizes for many of the geeky dresses/clothing they make)
I wish I could have gotten some good shots of the Bat Woman dress ($59.50), that is awesome looking or the Harley coat ($74.50) that has a joker design on the back, both were also wonderfully made and looked awesome in person!

You can find the line on the Hot Topic webpage here, or check it out now in stores!

[Geek Chic] Her Universe Avengers Active Wear at Kohls

Kohl's with Her Universe released a set of Avengers active wear in their stores towards the end of March. I went and checked them out (and purchased three items.) and was really thrilled with the quality of everything! I love Her Universe and own a lot of stuff from them, so the fact I could drive to a store and see their brand there made me a very happy geek girl! The Kohl's I visited didn't have all the items (I was hoping for some of the Iron Man items) or a bunch of sizes (second choice was a Black Widow top that they didn't have in my size.) However, I did drool over the items they did have which were the sports bras, Capri exercise pants, shorts and some of the shirts. All of them were on sale too, so that made it even sweeter.

The Avengers active wear line, at the moment has items for Captain America, Iron Man and Black Widow. I purchased a Captain America top and the Black Widow yoga shorts.

The Captain America Shield muscle tee was probably the softest shirt they had that I felt. This fabric is so soft and comfortable. It is made big since it is a muscle tee and meant for working out in. It is very comfortable when I tried it on and wore it for a little while. The top retails for $24, and can be found on Kohl's webpage here (or in the store)

The second item I purchased were the Black Widow yoga shorts. These shorts are perfect for working out in, or if you need a pair of shorts to wear under a short skirt (which they will be used for both most likely.) They are comfortable, stretchy and look good when wearing them, I really have nothing bad to say about these. I am incredibly happy with the quality and it is exactly what I expect from Her Universe. I am also really happy to see so many Black Widow themed items! These retail for $24.00 and can be found online here or in the store.

The last item I purchased were the Black, Black Widow Capri exercise pants. I am so excited for these pants, they are stetchy, soft and look wonderful! I am so excited for there to be geeky workout clothing options! (You can see them on the mannequin in the first photo.) These retail for $36.00 (but are on sale right now.) you can find them here.

Overall I am so thrilled with this clothing line and I hope it does well that Her Universe starts showing up in more stores. I also hope they do a Hulk set since that would mean Green and Purple Hulk inspired clothing! The sizes are also in Junior and plus sizes, so Her Universe is showing that all ladies who love Geeky clothing can wear them, no matter their size!

[Geeky Body Products Review] Buttered Buns Studios Body Wash and Lotions

At Katsucon this past February I picked up some items from Buttered Buns Studios. Three lotions and a body wash. I am always excited when I see small indie brands making beauty products and try to support them as best I could. All of the products at Buttered Buns Studios looked super cute and they had a really good variety at their artist alley table.

They had a wide range of fragrances and products, from chap-sticks, to lotions to body washes. I opted to get three lotions and one body wash since they had a special going on (I believe it was buy three get one free, if I remember right)

The first lotion I got has a super cute name "Filler Episode" which we all have seen and either love or hate in a series we are watching. This lotion is a watermelon scented lotion smells amazing, and it is hard to find good watermelon scented products so I was excited when I smelled this one!

Blackberry Bramble Tea is probably my favorite out of the three lotions I got. I love tea scented fragrances and when you add fruit to them they get even better. I also adore the artwork on the bottles! This lotion has a spicy smell along with the fruitiness which is a nice change from the one above which is very fruity.

The last two I purchased were the same fragrance, but I got a lotion and body wash. "Ocarina of Lime" was too good to pass up. I mean first the name is a pun, and I love puns. Second it is lime scented, which is always a pleasant smell to me. The body wash lathers well and the smell stays strong while you are using it. The lotion smells exactly the same as the body wash and is a great follow up after using it. Out of the three I purchased, this is the most subtle fragrance of the three. The lotion (like all the others) also makes your skin feel really soft.

I would definitely look up Buttered Bun Studios, or visit them at a con and check out their stuff! I am happy I got what I did, and I am sure it will not last long. You can find them here on FB. Other links for their social sites are on their card above!
