[Loot Crate] June Level Up! Accessories "Dystopia" Theme

Loot Crate Level Up! has so far been my favorite of the Loot Crates to consistently have stuff I want in it each month. This months theme of "Dystopia" was intriguing as to what they would be sending, and I am really happy about this months items!

The two items this month were a Attack On Titan necklace and a Firefly Kaylee hanging travel case.

We'll start off with my favorite item for this month! The Firefly Kaylee Hanging Travel Bag! I love that Level Up does send unique items that you wouldn't think of them sending, and this travel case is super cute and very handy for trips, or to store your makeup in. it opens into three compartments and has multiple pockets for storage. I absolutely love this and squeed! when I opened the mailer!

The next item they sent is an Attack On Titan Necklace with the Survey Corps. logo on it. I like Attack on Titan and the necklaces Level Up sends are great quality but I really wish they wouldn't send so many necklaces, they have sent a lot in the last few months, so a change up of a different jewelry piece would be nice. But that's just my opinion with the amount of new necklaces I now have from them!

I absolutely love every month I get this package in the mail and look forward to it! Want to check it out? then head here for the info!

[Geeky Makeup] Espionage Cosmetics BOOM Box April 2016! Fabled

A few months ago Espionage Cosmetics launched their BOOM Box, a makeup and more box that features their nail wraps, lips and all over colors as well as other geeky/nerdy companies items as well! I missed out on the first two boxes due to funds, but was able to subscribe for their third box which was themed "Fabled". I was so excited for this box, as you can tell from many of my posts, I LOVE espionage cosmetics and their nail wraps and other products (I am currently buy their all over shadow and stocking up on colors to do a fun makeup!) So I was so excited to see what I would get in this months box, since I was starting to run low on nail wraps and with the school year ending soon and only having my film makeup jobs to make up for the income, the extra spending wont be happening much!

This months box had a lot of great goodies in it, and I was so excited to see what was going to be in there, the previous two boxes were fantastic, so this one had to be too!!
So lets get started with all the awesome in them!

I'll star off with the fun Espionage swag that they send in their boxes. A fab nail file (since you need those to do the nail wraps!) a emblem sticker with everything you need in like (makeup, unicorns, and swords!) and a business card for the Boom Box! Now onward to the super exciting stuff!

Digital Soaps teamed up with the BOOM Box and offered a lovely glittery unocorn head soap! Looking at the card in the box it looks like there were three colors, Green (which I got), Purple and Blue. It is sparkly which is awesome and a unicorn! It will go amazing in my bathroom and I am very excited by Nerdy bath items!

Another amazing bath item in this months box, Rosina Leckermaul's House of Sweets Strawberry & Basil Sugar Scrub. This stuff smells like heaven, if heaven smelled like strawberries and basil. It has a great sugar scrub consistency and smells and feels wonderful to use! And it is bright pink! So bright and wonderful looking and smelling! It also leaves your skin smelling and feeling amazing after a shower!

Next up is an item from the Espionage Geek Boutique,  a set of three lovely mermaid inspired note cards, each has a saying in the lower corner and has a shiny scale motif on them. They are post card styles note cards and have envelopes to put them in once you have written your message on the back!

These fun temporary fairy tattoos are a first for Espionage! The box came with two packs of the same fairy designs, the dancing gold fairies then the written words as well. I am really excited to wear these since I loved the temporary tattoos as a kid and these feel like an older version of those! Also fairies!

I was SOOOOOOOO excited when I found out that the box would contain a new color for their everything shadow and a Lip serum! I was even more excited when I opened the box and the lip serum was purple (my favorite color!) The everything shadow is called Rumpelstiltskin and is a gold/yellow color. The Lip serum is called Banshee and is a sheer purple. You can mix the two together too (what the small plastic container is for) and make a peachy color as well! I have had so much fun using these, their Lip Serums are not sticky, they are super moisturizing and they feel amazing on your lips (and smell amazing too!)

The last item in the BOOM Box is what I was most excited about! I LOVE Espionage's nail wraps, I wear them all the time and am always excited when I am able to get new designs to wear and coordinate with my outfits! This months box had two new designs and you got one or the other (a Fairy design) and then the Valknjoggr, a dragon design, which is the one I received. Everyone also got Mystical Mane, a unicorn inspired set with fabulous glittery main nails and unicorn eyes as well! I am so excited to wear these since they both look amazing and I love the fantasy styles so much!

You can check out the BOOM Box here online! hey are now taking orders for June, so if you want to get in on the next one that has the theme Naturally Awesome, then get on it quick, they do sell out each month!

[Geek Makeup Review!] More Ways to Have an Awesome Nerd Manicure!

So I sat looking at the extra on my Espionage Cosmetics Nail Wraps the other day and decided to do something different to use up the extra bits I had left. I decided to try out a somewhat french manicure with the extra bits that I had on the ends of the nail wraps I had originally cut off, and I love the results!

Over the last few months (since the end of February) I have work four different Espionage Nail Wraps (Literary,Orange and Pink Masks, Pitch Perfect and Nebulae.) I wanted some cute music nails again, so I grabbed the remainder of the Pitch Perfect and my Lavender Probelle Nail Polish I got in my Ipsy Bag this month and went to town!

Doing the tips did take a lot longer than just putting on the wraps, the challenge was making sure the nail polish was completely dry and wouldn't dent when applying them. I got them on and love the overall look of them, but I also know better for next time to paint my nails and let them dry for at least 30 min. or so before I try to put the tips on. I finished them off with Essie gel nail top coat so there wasn't a gap between the nail wrap and the nail to pull it off (I always use this top coat on my nail wraps anyways since it helps keep them on, in my opinion.)

I definitely will try this out with my other leftovers from my nail wraps (I knew I saved them for a reason!) I would also suggest this to others who want to try out a different look on their nails, who also love the nail wraps and nail polish!

You can check out Espionage Cosmetics here

[Geek Chic] Her Universe Avengers Active Wear at Kohls

Kohl's with Her Universe released a set of Avengers active wear in their stores towards the end of March. I went and checked them out (and purchased three items.) and was really thrilled with the quality of everything! I love Her Universe and own a lot of stuff from them, so the fact I could drive to a store and see their brand there made me a very happy geek girl! The Kohl's I visited didn't have all the items (I was hoping for some of the Iron Man items) or a bunch of sizes (second choice was a Black Widow top that they didn't have in my size.) However, I did drool over the items they did have which were the sports bras, Capri exercise pants, shorts and some of the shirts. All of them were on sale too, so that made it even sweeter.

The Avengers active wear line, at the moment has items for Captain America, Iron Man and Black Widow. I purchased a Captain America top and the Black Widow yoga shorts.

The Captain America Shield muscle tee was probably the softest shirt they had that I felt. This fabric is so soft and comfortable. It is made big since it is a muscle tee and meant for working out in. It is very comfortable when I tried it on and wore it for a little while. The top retails for $24, and can be found on Kohl's webpage here (or in the store)

The second item I purchased were the Black Widow yoga shorts. These shorts are perfect for working out in, or if you need a pair of shorts to wear under a short skirt (which they will be used for both most likely.) They are comfortable, stretchy and look good when wearing them, I really have nothing bad to say about these. I am incredibly happy with the quality and it is exactly what I expect from Her Universe. I am also really happy to see so many Black Widow themed items! These retail for $24.00 and can be found online here or in the store.

The last item I purchased were the Black, Black Widow Capri exercise pants. I am so excited for these pants, they are stetchy, soft and look wonderful! I am so excited for there to be geeky workout clothing options! (You can see them on the mannequin in the first photo.) These retail for $36.00 (but are on sale right now.) you can find them here.

Overall I am so thrilled with this clothing line and I hope it does well that Her Universe starts showing up in more stores. I also hope they do a Hulk set since that would mean Green and Purple Hulk inspired clothing! The sizes are also in Junior and plus sizes, so Her Universe is showing that all ladies who love Geeky clothing can wear them, no matter their size!

[Geeky Body Products Review] Buttered Buns Studios Body Wash and Lotions

At Katsucon this past February I picked up some items from Buttered Buns Studios. Three lotions and a body wash. I am always excited when I see small indie brands making beauty products and try to support them as best I could. All of the products at Buttered Buns Studios looked super cute and they had a really good variety at their artist alley table.

They had a wide range of fragrances and products, from chap-sticks, to lotions to body washes. I opted to get three lotions and one body wash since they had a special going on (I believe it was buy three get one free, if I remember right)

The first lotion I got has a super cute name "Filler Episode" which we all have seen and either love or hate in a series we are watching. This lotion is a watermelon scented lotion smells amazing, and it is hard to find good watermelon scented products so I was excited when I smelled this one!

Blackberry Bramble Tea is probably my favorite out of the three lotions I got. I love tea scented fragrances and when you add fruit to them they get even better. I also adore the artwork on the bottles! This lotion has a spicy smell along with the fruitiness which is a nice change from the one above which is very fruity.

The last two I purchased were the same fragrance, but I got a lotion and body wash. "Ocarina of Lime" was too good to pass up. I mean first the name is a pun, and I love puns. Second it is lime scented, which is always a pleasant smell to me. The body wash lathers well and the smell stays strong while you are using it. The lotion smells exactly the same as the body wash and is a great follow up after using it. Out of the three I purchased, this is the most subtle fragrance of the three. The lotion (like all the others) also makes your skin feel really soft.

I would definitely look up Buttered Bun Studios, or visit them at a con and check out their stuff! I am happy I got what I did, and I am sure it will not last long. You can find them here on FB. Other links for their social sites are on their card above!

[Conventions!] (Re)Generation Who 2

(Re)Generation Who 2 was my 6th convention this year. I work for the convention running their press department, and I love every minute that I am there! Along with running press this year, I also did an interview, played Ukulele for the Davors Variety show and had a book release party for my new Unofficial Doctor Who Cookbook, "Shut Up and Eat 2! The Unofficial Doctor Who Series Nine Ready to Dine Cookbook"

(Re)Generation Who has such an amazing atmosphere. The fans are excited to be there, the guests are excited to see the fans and everything is so inviting and fun! Everyone who works for this con wants to see all the attendees happy and smile about their interactions at the con! It's that simple. And from what I saw throughout the entire weekend, that seemed to be happening!

I arrived at the con on Thursday and did a few con related work things, and also got to see a Pug!!! Like I cannot go anywhere without seeing a cute squishy face puggy!!!

My amazing friend Cassandra who worked for press this year! She was wonderful!!!!

My big work started on Friday, getting press running then recording and taking questions in the Frazier Hines and Companions interviews. Both of these panels were amazing, and once I have a chance to edit the videos I'll post them over on my youtube channel! I also got to have a really fun rehearsal with Cat Smith and Terry Molloy, since the three of us were playing in the Davors Variety Show together on Saturday!

Time to play some Uku!
Saturday was the day I was most nervous about, my first book release party for Shut Up and Eat 2! and the Davros Variety show, plus working for press all day and helping out on some interviews by taking questions.

The book release party was first, and it was so well attended, I had no idea there would be so many people in the audience, I was thrilled and it was a bit nerve wracking having a ASL interpreter repeating everything I said! Ginger and Kara were also in attendance and I was so happy both of the fantastic artists who worked on this book and believed in it could be there!

After the book release party I headed straight to the Peter Davison "5-ish Doctors" panel. Kara was interviewing Peter Davison for it and it was a fantastic panel! The stories he told were amazing and the audience had a lot of great questions for him as well!

Next up was the "Tea With the Doctors" event. This is such a fun concept, and the fans that attend it always seem to have such an amazing time! I have never seen anything like this at another con. I have seen breakfast with the guests or other inclusive type events, but this tea is such a fun concept.

No photo of me as Osgood, so have one of Melissa holding a drawing Kelsey Wailes did!
After the Tea I sat in on an episode of Captain Kyle's Cosplay Spotlight as Osgood. Sadly I did not get a photo during the filming, but once the episode is released I will definitely post a link! (there is a pretty hilarious part where I am doing charades of Doctor Who villains!)

Another event I was really excited for was the "Davros Variety Show" I was asked to play Ukulele with Terry Molloy and Cat Smith, and of course I jumped on the chance, because I love performing and I rarely get to do so! So many other wonderful acts also performed, and the show seemed to really go over well!

After the Davros Variety Hour it was some work, then the Dominic Glynn concert, I was very excited for this since one, awesome music, and two, I was interviewing him in the morning! The concert was lovely and even had a special appearance by Colin Baker!

Sunday, the last day of the con, but still lots of amazing panels and events going on! Terry Molloy did his fantastic "Acting for Audio" panel, that is always full of information. I have attended this panel/workshop every time I have been able too and I learn so much every time.

At 1pm on Sunday I had the honor of interviewing Dominic Glynn for the "Music of Doctor Who with Dominic Glynn." This was such an enjoyable time talking about growing up with music and how he became a composer for film and television. I am so happy I was asked to do this interview. It was definitely a high light of my weekend!

Ly from Pixel Who. <3 this lady!
The rest of Sunday was spent working for the con. But what an amazing weekend this was! I had been looking forward to it for months, and I was definitely not disappointed! So many of the staff I work with are like family to me, and I am always happy to spend a weekend working with them. I cannot wait until Intervention 7 and next years (Re)Generation Who!

[Loot Crate] March's LVL Up! Accessories

This months LVL Up!'s theme was VS. Which I was excited about because they hinted that the theme had to do with Batman vs. Superman, and one of my favorite lady comic characters is in the movie, Wonder Woman! So I was hoping for something having to do with her!

I ended up with two accessories packs this month since I normally purchase one AND I won one through Le Fancy Geek's contest that she ran last month!
LVL Up! Accessories sends you around two geeky themed accessories each month for 14.95. Each month has a different theme, and the items are normally exclusive to the bag.

I was so excited when I saw what was in this months package after I opened it up! The first item I laid my eyes on was the hair ties, which is something I use a lot. Also one of the is Wonder Woman, so woooooot!

Truthfully I am happy with all three designs since they have to do with comics and I adore all three characters!

The next item is a set of necklaces with the Batman and Superman symbols on it. I love necklaces and I am excited to wear these, but I do wish LVL Up! would pick another item than a necklace since they have been in the bags for the last three-ish months. The BioWorld necklaces are amazing quality, however, so props to LVL Up! for picking a company that makes great products. So while I would like to see something other than the same item each month, I am very excited to wear these!

I wear a lot of geeky jewelry and I have loved doing LVL Up! If this is something you would be interested in, then check it out here!

[Loot Crate] February's Level Up! Accessories

This month Loot Crate's Level Up! Had some great items in it! I did just the Accessories pack (I am kicking myself for not doing the Her Universe Deadpool T-shirt, oh buddy am I) I only got the Accessories this month, and loved the two items! A Walking Dead Necklace and Espionage Cosmetics blood splatter nail wraps!

The Walking Dead Necklace/Locket from Bio World is lovely! I did have to fix mine, since the chain the the necklace were not connected (the ring was in the package so I just fixed it.)

The flower locket opens up to a mirror inside of it.

And then has a lovely saying on the back.

The locket is wonderful quality, it is light but sturdy.

Espionage Blood Splatter Nail Wraps!

I LOVE Espionage nail wraps, so I was so excited to find out that they were part of this months Level Up Accessory!

Nail wraps are awesome, they are stickers that go over your nails and stay on for about two weeks! These have red glitter blood splatters on them! I cannot wait to wear them!

The one item I am kicking myself for not getting was the Her Universe Deadpool shirt! It is so cute and mint green! (one of my favorite colors!) I was on the edge for a Deadpool shirt, but should have known it being a Her Universe shirt I would have loved it! Hopefully Lootcrate and Heruniverse do a lot more collaborations since I know better now!

Level Up! Accessories is 14.95 a month and you can learn more about it here!
