[Ipsy] January Ipsy Glam Bag

I got a lot of great items in this months glam bag! So far Ipsy has not let me down with what I have gotten!

First off the Bag! This month is cute, for the most part the bags have been solid colors or patterned, this one has a really cute design on it! (I do think my favorite is still the space bag though, it was super pretty!) But I do love the design on this bag for this month, it will definitely get used for stuff!

Next up is the body cream I recieved from Mitchell and Peach called "English Leaf Body Cream". This body cream was great! It had a light smell and was really moisturizing! I had never heard of this brand before, but am always excited when Ipsy sends me lotions because they have not sent me one I do not like so far!

The Balm Cosmetics; Mr Write Me Now eyeliner! I received the color Jack B. Bronze, a bronze color. This eyeliner went on amazingly, it was smooth and had great color coverage! The bronze color was vibrant and had a bit of shine to it. It also stayed in place and did not wipe off easily. I also love the packaging for it! This was a full size, so that was awesome!

Pur~Lisse, Blue Lotus 4-in-1 eye adore serum. This serum went on the skin smooth and didn't leave it greasy at all. It says for all skin types, and I do not have incredibly sensitive skin so this worked well for me to use. Would definitely continue using.

City Color Eyeshadow Trio, Now I have gotten a lot of brown eye shadows from Ipsy, I kinda feel like that is all I get eyeshadow wise from them. The quality of eyeshadow is nice. The dark brown/bronze color is my favorite, it has a great shiny look to it! The eyeshadows themselves had great coverage. The bronze and light brown are shiny and the tan/orange color is a matte shade. The container was really hard to open though, and still is after a few openings.

Jelly Pong Pong Fairy Lashes Mascara, While I did put I did not want mascaras on my Ipsy profile, I have gotten a few of them in the last year (maybe 3 or 4.) I have rather long lashes so I do not wear mascara a lot. My first impressions of this mascara was that the brush looked like the product would go on well, it was a standard mascara brush, nothing too special. The coverage was normal for mascara, it went on smooth and had good coverage while on.

I am overall very happy with this months bag! I can use everything in it, which is what is important since why have the product if you cant use it. If you are interested in Ipsy you can check it out here on their webpage

[Vox Box] Covergirl VoxBox

I have been doing Influenster for awhile now and love it! They send you products and you review them! They go from beauty to food to clothing or electronics! Lots of cool stuff, but they choose you based on surveys and what you review on their site. I got two voxboxes recently. A Slimfast voxbox with lots of edible goodies and a Covergirl voxbox with a lipstick and mascara in it.

Plumpify Mascara:

The first item I got in my Covergirl voxbox was the plumpify mascara. This mascara came in a nice box, and the mascara itself was closed off, you have to put the brush in, I am guessing so there is no chance of it drying out while on the shelf.
The brush has really small bristles and is plastic and the mascara went on great, any clumps that came off on my lashes I was able to get rid of by way of using the brush to wipe them off. I do not always wear mascara because it feels heavy, this was actually pretty nice when I had it on, so I would consider using this more in the future when I have to wear mascara.

Oh Sugar Lip Color:

I received the color Taffy for the Oh Sugar lip color. A natural color that is not too dark, and goes on very smooth. I liked the way this felt on my lips and it had a good smell to it (I hate it when lip colors smell bad.) I would definitely want to try these out in other colors if I got the chance too. It was a bit sheer so not pigmented too much, which is good when you want a natural lip color that isn't too much.

You can find Plumpify and Oh Sugar online by clicking on their names. Or in drugstores like Walgreens or CVS as well.

[Geek Girl Makeup Review] Cover Girl Star Wars Makeup!

So if you are a fan of Star Wars, and a girl who loves makeup, then you may have heard of Cover Girl's new Star Wars makeup line that they have brought out to celebrate the new movies that comes out in Dec. However finding it was a challenge at first, but after two months of looking in stores, the makeup is now showing up! I have so far found it at CVS and Target (and have been told by friends they have also seen it at Walgreens.) The display below is from Target.

The line has Lipsticks, Nail Polish and Mascara. I picked up a few and you can read all about them below!

First, I'll start off with the Mascara, This one comes in two types and has 10 different packages, each with a different Star Wars quote on them! (5 light side quotes and 5 dark side quotes) The two types are Waterproof and then Super Sizer Mascara. The one below is the waterproof mascara (they all have the Light Side quotes while the Super Size has the Dark Side quotes.)

Lipsticks, there are six different colors, each with Star Wars packaging, the colors do not have fun names, but numbers to distinguish their colors. ( was only able to get four of the six colors they have out.) They have really great coverage and average between 5-7$ depending on where you buy them at.

The lipsticks go on very smooth and have great coverage, they also last for hours, you do have to reapply every once in awhile, but The color went on and stayed on when I wore color 50 at an anime con I was last at! The packing is also very fun!

Nail Polish, there are also six shades of nail polish (much like the lipsticks) the nail polish however do have fun names that go along with each one! I was able to get Speed of Light which is a grey color and Mutant, which is a blue color. There is also Red Revenge (Deep Red), Fury (Orange), Nemesis (Purple), and Nuclear (Lime Green). Each color is supposed to be a gel like shine that last up to seven days and has a chip proof formula.

The nail polish has great coverage and you do not have to do more than two coats to get great coverage, it stayed on for many days before chipping as well (and I am rough on my hands between computer, playing Ukulele and other activities!) And the colors are really fun (from normal business/work acceptable colors to "crazy" colors)

Overall I am very happy with all these different makeups that CoverGirl has put out. It is really fun for a company to be catering to the female fans of a science fiction franchise. The makeup is good quality for an inexpensive brand that is sold in drugstores. I really hope they decide to jump on the boat for other Geeky brands or even other companies follow in their footsteps!

[Geek Girl Makeup Review] tarte for True Blood Makeup Collection

tarte has released some amazing products this fall, inspired by HBO's TV series True Blood! The items in this set are not only amazing, but leave lots of options to make yourself as glamorous as you want for a date with your vampire, or as work ready as you could be!

tarte for True Blood Limited Edition Makeup Pallete:

This pallete wins for the best looking pallete ever! The black corset design is amazing, there is a mirror inside with the 17 eyeshadows, it also comes with lifted natural eye primer (to help keep those eye shadows on!) and mascara! Everything you need for the perfect look! The eye shadows are long lasting and have a variety of colors for a variety of looks! Perfect for that person who is not sure what look they want from day to day, be as vampy, or as casual as you want at the blink of an eye! The makeup is also very long lasting and high quality!
Retail: $52.00

tarte for True Blood limited-edition LipSurgence Natural Lip Tint

I was incredibly excited when I saw the color of this lipsurgence! I have tried tarte's other colors and to see a glittery red was really exciting! The color is lovely and subtle, so don't let the red color scare you! It goes on smooth and stays on for a long time!
Retail: $24.00

tarte for True Blood limited-edition Natural Cheek Stain

Again like the lipsurgence don't let this red scare you. It goes on as a pale rose color and gives you that hint of color (and a little glitter) you would need (I'm super pale and this looked nice on me!) The fruit extracts in the cheek stain are also good for your skin, so it is not as harsh as other products and cheek colors.
Retail: $30.00

Overall this is a GREAT set of makeup, tarte has never let me down with their products, and the fact that they teamed up with True Blood to make a themed set is always really great! Fun marketing towards ladies is always fun!
